DESIGN CONCEPT

Our main inspiration was our planet and the remote sites where the races will take place. 

We chose different materials for each race depending on the climate issues Extreme-e will generate awareness. 

The concept behind the design is simple and bold. We designed a series of trophies based on the Extreme E logo and converted it into a 3D solid, the trophy works as a sculpture and it can stand on its own without using additional materials. 

We wanted to minimize the manufacturing impact as much as we could replacing inks and solvents with engraved texts and we chose 3D printing as the main fabrication technique. 

The final result is a unique circular trophy aligned with Extreme-e purpose of using recycled materials picked from the oceans. 

In line with the championship’s environmental message and goals, trophies will be made from a variety of recycled materials such as plastic collected by the St. Helena or beach cleans, as well as other biodegradable resources.
